Titans Pull the Plug — Brian Callahan Out as Tennessee’s Head Coach

The Brian Callahan experiment in Nashville is officially over. After just 23 games and a 4–19 record, the Tennessee Titans have fired their head coach, ending what was supposed to be a new offensive era before it ever found traction.

When Callahan arrived in early 2024, optimism ran high. He brought an impressive résumé from Cincinnati and the promise of a fresh approach built around young talent. But after a 1–5 start to this season — and an offense that’s managed only 83 total points — that promise faded fast.

Callahan’s decision to hand off play-calling duties in September was a sign the pressure was mounting. Still, nothing changed. The Titans looked lost, rookie quarterback Cam Ward struggled to find rhythm, and the once-feared offense became one of the league’s least productive.

Team leadership put it simply: the team hadn’t shown enough growth. In other words, the progress Callahan was hired to deliver never came.

To be fair, the challenges were real — a thin roster, injuries, and a tough division didn’t help. But in today’s NFL, patience is short and production is everything. The Titans couldn’t afford to keep waiting for a turnaround that wasn’t coming.

The next move will be critical. Whether Tennessee turns to a proven veteran or another rising star, the franchise must find a coach who can re-energize this locker room and develop its young quarterback.

Because one thing is clear — the Titans’ fan base, and the state of Tennessee, are ready for results.
