Northside High School

Located in north Jackson, Tennessee, North Side High School has built a deep athletic tradition across multiple sports. With its blue-and-gold teams proudly competing from “The Reservation,” the school has a strong record of postseason appearances and state-level success.

North Side has been a frequent contender in the TSSAA state football playoffs, making 26 appearances between 1972 and 2024. While the team hasn’t captured a state title yet, their sustained playoff presence—spanning the ’70s, ’90s, 2000s, and recently 2024—showcases long-term excellence.
The Lady Indians claim a storied history, with 11 state tournament appearances from 1959 to 2007 . The pinnacle came in 2006, when they reached the state championship game and finished as runner-up with a stellar 32–2 record. A pioneer in Jackson public school soccer, North Side captured the 2007 district title and made three Class A–AA state tournament appearances (2007, 2014, 2017). North Side’s boys’ track & field team qualified for the Class A–AA state meet three times (2006, 2007, 2014).  Meanwhile, the girls’ cross-country squad punched their ticket to the state level in 2016, bolstered by individual qualifiers in 2013 and 2014 .
The Indian Basketball Team has 3 state tournament appearances, in 2004, 2005, and 2022.  They have 2 runner-up finishes and had an impressive 29-3 record in 2004. The newly formed girls’ flag football team went undefeated in the regular season, landed in the state invitational, and finished in the Top 16 in 2025.

From frequent football playoff runs to near misses in girls’ basketball, from pioneering soccer appearances to bowling and track achievements—North Side High School has built a rich sports legacy. Their athletes continue to uphold a culture of dedication, pride, and resilience, setting the stage for future generations to shine—on and off the field.
