Located at 232 McClellan Road, USJ competes in TSSAA Division II‑A, proudly wearing Columbia blue, scarlet, and white as the Bruins. USJ offers a diverse and successful athletic program with deep tournament pedigrees, multiple state championships, and standout individual performers.
Football has 35 playoff appearances with 7 State Runner-up finishes (1993, 1998, 2000, 2009, 2011, 2019, 2020). USJ has a 54 – 35 postseason record.
Girls Basketball has 12 state tournament berths, State Champions in 2024, and runners-up in 2005 & 2017.
Baseball has 17 state tournament trips, with 5 state championships (1999, 2001, 2002, 2012, 2014) and 4 runner-up finishes.
Softball has 9 state appearances, state champions in 2010 & 2012, and runner-up honors in 2011, 2013, and 2024.
Girls Soccer has 18 state tournament qualifications since 2003, with 4 titles (2010, 2011, 2021, 2022) and 3 runner-up finishes.
Boys Cross Country has 15 state appearances (1997–2015), team runner-up in 2012, plus one individual state champion in 2013. The Girls Cross Country team has 17 appearances, team runner-up in 2009, plus multiple top individuals.
USJ’s athletic profile is built on long term success across team sports, state level success including recent banners in girls’ basketball, baseball, softball, and girls’ soccer, deep postseason culture, and well-rounded student-athletes.
With state titles across four major sports in recent years, and standout individuals leading the charge, USJ Bruins are poised to maintain—and grow—their status as a top-tier athletics powerhouse in West Tennessee.
